Dead Cast Collection
2012
A series of objects made from paper, wood,pigment, shellac, fabric, wax, steel.
Dead Cast Collection consists of objects made between 2008 and 2015. Some of the objects are to be handled and touched, resembling tools and everyday objects- some are delicate, made to look at.
Objects from the collection were shown in the exhibition ‘Freies Material’ Project space Weltraum in Munich 2011, and an exhibition named after the collection in 2012 at the project space Homefront, inside a carussel of tall metal and wood frames hinged on a central pillar.
For the exhibition at Homefront, two texts, by Sue Finlay and Katrina Palmer, were commisioned to accompany the collection. Sue Finlay read from her work for the opening.
